About

A Small Church, Plainly Presbyterian

Our story, our beliefs, and the people who shepherd this congregation.

Our Story

Norris Hill Presbyterian Church has met on this same hill for generations — through seasons of growth, seasons of hardship, and the ordinary faithfulness of showing up week after week. We have never been a large church, and we've made peace with that. What we lack in size, we make up for in knowing one another: your absence is noticed, your name is remembered, and your questions are welcome.

We're a congregation of a few dozen families and individuals, drawn from Anderson and the surrounding farms and roads. Some of us have been here for sixty years; others found us last spring. All of us are here for the same reason — to sit under the plain preaching of Scripture and to belong to a people who take both worship and each other seriously.

What We Believe

  • ScriptureThe Bible is God's own Word, sufficient and reliable, and the final authority for what we believe and how we live.
  • ConfessionWe hold to the Westminster Standards as a faithful summary of biblical teaching — not as a substitute for Scripture, but as a trustworthy guide to it. Westminster Standards
  • WorshipOur worship is simple: the reading and preaching of the Word, prayer, congregational singing, and the sacraments of baptism and the Lord's Supper.
  • GovernmentWe're governed by a session of ruling elders alongside our pastor, in keeping with Presbyterian church order.

Our Pastor

Rev. Patrick Miller

Rev. Patrick Miller

Pastor

Pastor Miller has served Norris Hill since 2011. He preaches through books of the Bible verse by verse, challenging listeners to think about and therefore respond to the truths of the Bible in ways they've never considered. He loves going deep on Theological topics on Wednesday nights, and is always happy to talk about the Bible, golf, or college football.
